I had the absolute pleasure of photographing May & Kareem’s Punta Cana Destination wedding at Barcelo Bavaro Beach, Dominican Republic this June.

These two. every time I think about them my heart grows three sizes. I can’t quite explain just how much May’s smile lights up the room – You’ll see what I mean in the photos. She’s got a quality about her that is remarkably inviting. Kareem is so kind and sweet, and it’s clear he and May have something special. (You may remember their cozy Winter engagement session – just *slightly* different climate than their wedding… :P)

I brought my husband Kiron as my assistant to this one, and we had a wonderful time exploring and taking in the beautiful tropical scenery as we scouted locations. May and Kareem sure know how to enjoy a wedding – they spent the days leading up to the big day lounging in the pool and going on expeditions with their wedding party. Everyone had a great time – all 40 (!) guests who came to celebrate the union of these two lovebirds were constantly smiling and laughing. I couldn’t believe 40 people came! But apparently most of their family is dispersed throughout the world so they had to have *some* sort of destination that everyone traveled to — might as well make it super pretty!

May and Kareem are actually one of my favourite couples to photograph. I looove how full and open their hearts always seem to be. Their connection flows with ease and I get to capture the true essence of how they are together so effortlessly.
