Caitlin and Josh had an Earth to Table Farm (by Pearl Events) wedding – it’s a secluded and *stunning* venue. A cool thing about this place is they happen to grow many of the ingredients in their delicious food! And the grounds are just SO scenic and lovely. Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful and full of joy. My favourite moment by far is Josh’s emotional reaction when he saw Caitlin during their first look. Guys, it was so touching. I got teary myself. Aaah. I’ll let you enjoy their photos now, and be sure to check out their own reflections at the bottom of the post! Your Love Story:… Keep Reading
Park Hyatt Wedding | Tammy & John
Park Hyatt Wedding Tammy and John had an intimate downtown Toronto wedding at the Park Hyatt hotel across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). They started their day at Tammy’s parents’ house – they have a beautiful large backyard where Tammy’s father lovingly hung lanterns for their backyard wedding photos. Their ceremony was located at St. Bonaventure Church, a lovely space with soaring ceilings. We then walked around the streets of Toronto for some city wedding portraits, and then we had to take advantage of the amazing Toronto skyline view on the Hyatt’s rooftop! Their intimate reception at the Hyatt hotel was full of laughs and love. Here are… Keep Reading
Gardiner Museum Wedding | Ali & Marijan
Sigh, Ali & Marijan – so much love. These two are so obviously head over heels for each other, and their blended family with two adorable twin boys is so special. I had such a great time getting to know these two and photographing their special day. It was especially touching for me because Ali was friends with my brother who has passed away. A number of his friends were at the wedding and it felt like he was there smiling on their day. Their day was intimate and low key – no wedding party, no special dances, just a casual, stylish gathering of their nearest and dearest. They had… Keep Reading
Modern Airship37 Wedding | Amanda & Markus
Amanda and Markus’ downtown Toronto wedding day at Distillery District’s Airship37 was first and foremost a day of love – both between the two of them, and amongst everyone who was there. They had so many relatives who visited them from around the world who, along with everyone else in attendance, had such affection and adoration for this sweet couple. It’s no wonder, they are two of the kindest, most thoughtful people you will ever meet. Their wedding was also a wonderful reflection who who they are and what means most to them, with tonnes of personal touches. They put so much of themselves into this wedding. For example, Amanda… Keep Reading
Kurtz Orchards Wedding Photos | Randy + Jovy
Randy and Jovy’s Niagara Vineyard Wedding at Kurtz Orchards was a day full of heart. You could feel the sweet love these two share, as well as so much warmth in the love of their family and friends. This was especially evident during speeches, when tears were flowing anywhere you looked. So touching. Kurtz Orchards is such a scenic place for wedding photography – Not only is there the beauty of the vineyard (vineyard weddings are so lovely as it is!), but they have a historic house for getting ready, an orchard for an outdoor ceremony, a tent for an outdoor reception (yay, natural light!), and the most AMAZING sunset… Keep Reading
Geometric Wedding / Candlelit Elopement Inspiration
Geometric Wedding / Candlelit Elopement Wedding Inspiration There was a full moon that day, and so the moon was a welcome addition to the photos! The style of this shoot incorporates traditional opulent elegance mingled with clean geometric lines and shapes. Elegant, but not ‘too much’. Modern, but still soft. A harmonious balance between the two usually quite opposite styles. The floral arrangements are relaxed and organic, which juxtaposes nicely with the ornate antique details in the tablescape. We also think it’s important to not upstage the beauty of the venue too much – important to find a good complimentary balance. We hope this shoot inspires the romantic, traditionally-inclined yet… Keep Reading
Boho Wedding Inspiration Shoot
Boho-Glam Wedding Inspiration Shoot — What a super fun shoot to capture! This was also featured on Green Wedding Shoes! Here’s a bit about the concept, as written by planner extraordinaire Annie of Madison & Ella: “This elopement styled shoot was inspired by the dreamy California landscape and the free spirited bohemian aesthetic that comes out of there. Annie of Madison & Ella Inc. styled the shoot with the warm, rich golden colours of the sun and sand in mind creating an intimate ceremony and tablescape for two. Carrie of Roadside Florist perfectly accented the design with desert foliage in muted greens and browns adding feathers for the perfect bohemian touch…. Keep Reading
Archeo Distillery District Wedding – Jen & Ben
Jen & Ben had a lovely intimate wedding at the Distillery District’s Archeo restaurant. It was a super low-key day surrounded by their nearest and dearest – and it happened to fall on one of the first Spring-like days of the season. (Thank you Mother Nature!) During their portraits the wind hilariously lifted Jen’s looong veil completely vertically! And it stayed there for several minutes! Here are some snapshots from their special day, along with some words from the couple themselves at the end about their love story <3 Your Love Story: We met on E-Harmony. We were both looking for a serious relationship but also weren’t willing to settle. We… Keep Reading
‘The Day After’ – Styled Shoot
You spend so much time planning your wedding, but what happens the Day After your wedding? When the festivities are over, you get to wake up next to your life partner, and savour the new reality. Sleeping in, enjoying some leftover cake with breakfast, and lots of cozy cuddling. This styled shoot was quite a spur-of-the-moment decision this Winter and I worked with some phenomenal Toronto vendors to get it together within a month. Though it was cold out, we styled this shoot with the nearly-approaching Spring in mind.Because, just as Spring is a beautiful new start after Winter, the day after your wedding is the start of a new journey together…. Experimenting with Moody Photography
Moody Photography – Experimenting & Shooting for Fun. Photographers can have PD days too. Professional Development is something I think is super important – it’s good to always keep learning, always get creative and try new things. Toronto wedding photography in the Winter can be drab and chilly, but you can actually get some pretty interesting indoor shots if you have a room with good light! On Sunday I had some fun at a photography workshop experimenting with different ways to shoot. The cool thing about Winter (other than it being ‘cool’ – heh heh) is having some free time to try out new things with some personal shooting. What’s… Keep Reading
