Hotel X Wedding | Caroline & JP Sometimes grandmas know best. Yes, Caroline & JP were set up by their grandmothers! “We were set up by our grandmothers… I was living and teaching in Vancouver, and came home for a long weekend in November 2014 and went with my grandmother to her church bizarre. JP’s grandmother was there and she asked me if I was single and when I said yes, she said I had to meet her grandson and went on about how special he is. Since I was going back to Vancouver that weekend, it didn’t end up working out for JP and I to meet up until… Keep Reading
Berkeley Church Wedding | Irini & Marshall
Berkeley Church Wedding – Irini & Marshall To say that photographing this couple has been so much fun would be un understatement. From the day we met, I knew we’d get along famously. They are so much fun. And just such great people. I photographed their engagement session at their epic Muskoka cottage, and their wedding was held at the beautiful Berkeley Church in downtown Toronto. A beautiful Winter wedding that warmed my heart right up. Here are some highlights from their special day, along with some insights from the couple themselves at the bottom of the post! Here are some super awesome reflections from the newlyweds! Your Love Story:… Keep Reading
The Henley Room Wedding | Margo & Jacob
The Henley Room Wedding at the Argonaut Rowing Club High school sweethearts Margo and Jacob are married! They got engaged while teaching in Taiwan, so they brought a bit of that into their wedding day via the ‘Double Happiness’ sign in Luckee restaurant. Their reception was held at the The Henley Room in the Argonaut Rowing Club, which was perfect because when they were younger they used to meet up on the grass right outside — how kismet is that? Their day was filled with the warmest love vibes, and tonnes of laughter – in part thanks to the custom Cards Against Humanity game at their reception. I edited more photos than I usually do in black and… Keep Reading
The Great Hall Wedding | Alanna & Jimmy
The Great Hall Wedding Photography Alanna & Jimmy got married on a Good Friday, and what a Good Friday it was. Both of them wore grins from ear to ear, and I couldn’t help but join them in that throughout the day and later as I worked on their photos. They enlisted the help of wedding planner Jessica of Bisous Events who elevated the look of the day to an understated elegance that struck the perfect balance of opulence (with the lush fabrics, incredible florals by Hunt & Gather and beautiful place settings) and comfortable intimacy (with the understated romantic candle votives, flowing foliage and enough space for the design… Keep Reading
Storys Building Wedding | Nicole & Nate
Storys Building Wedding | Nicole & Nate They met when she totally kicked his butt in hockey. Their Storys Building wedding had a rustic/industrial feel with soft edges at this downtown Toronto loft venue and Evergreen Brickworks for their portraits. Everyone in attendance was all spectacularly warm and kind. You could tell this family and friend group is close-knit and really cares for one another. He has a comical love of squirrels – so much so that wedding planner Lynzie Kent incorporated them into the decor. So cheeky and cute! And the live band Electric Blonde kicked off a *fantastic* dance party. The vibe of the day was just so… Keep Reading
Steam Whistle Brewery Wedding | Courtney & Dan
Funny how life works out – Courtney’s parents moved from the US down the street from the spot their daughter would meet her future husband. On Summer break from school 5 years ago she met Dan at a BBQ near her parents’ new home. She couldn’t shake him off, and found herself packing her things after graduation and moving from Nevada to be with him. They got married at SteamWhistle Pilsner Brewery, and all her bridesmaids & many family members came from the US to celebrate their special day. Here’s a peek at their Steam Whistle Brewery Wedding! What a beautiful and fun day!! — Here are some reflections from… Keep Reading
Eglinton Grand Gatsby Wedding | Alissa & Jason
Eglinton Grand Wedding Alissa and Jason had an elegant Gatsby-themed wedding at the Eglinton Grand Theatre venue. The Eglinton Grand space has a feel of an upscale but still cool Art Deco theatre that begs for ritzy Hollywood styling. Toronto wedding planner Fidan at Designed Dream Wedding Planning absolutely rose to the task, filling the space with lush and large ornamentation, including tall feather-tipped florals (by Flowers Time) as well as sparkling plates, decorations & linens and strings of pearls. We also spent some time walking the streets of downtown Toronto for their portraits, and I love the juxtaposition of city grit and formal elegance of this wedding. It’s a cool contrast. You… Keep Reading
Archeo Wedding: Bridget & Nick
Quite possibly the most adorable couple you will ever see. They exchanged vows in their first home together – the party room of their condo building (what a neat idea!). TTC travellers, they hopped on the Cherry St. streetcar. Fitting, since their last name is Cherry! Then in the Distillery District, and they had an intimate Archeo wedding reception – complete with loads of laughter and emotion. This couple and their family wear their hearts on their sleeves in the best kind of way. Here are some highlights from their wedding, along with reflections from the happy couple themselves at the end. I dare you to try not to smile…. Keep Reading
Earth to Table Farm Wedding | Caitlin & Josh
Caitlin and Josh had an Earth to Table Farm (by Pearl Events) wedding – it’s a secluded and *stunning* venue. A cool thing about this place is they happen to grow many of the ingredients in their delicious food! And the grounds are just SO scenic and lovely. Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful and full of joy. My favourite moment by far is Josh’s emotional reaction when he saw Caitlin during their first look. Guys, it was so touching. I got teary myself. Aaah. I’ll let you enjoy their photos now, and be sure to check out their own reflections at the bottom of the post! Your Love Story:… Keep Reading
Gardiner Museum Wedding | Ali & Marijan
Sigh, Ali & Marijan – so much love. These two are so obviously head over heels for each other, and their blended family with two adorable twin boys is so special. I had such a great time getting to know these two and photographing their special day. It was especially touching for me because Ali was friends with my brother who has passed away. A number of his friends were at the wedding and it felt like he was there smiling on their day. Their day was intimate and low key – no wedding party, no special dances, just a casual, stylish gathering of their nearest and dearest. They had… Keep Reading
