Isabella’s Toronto Cake Smash!
Isabella’s Toronto Cake Smash! Ah, little Isabella. I have to say, her personality didn’t seem so little – She’s definitely got a presence and a total ‘I’m a boss’-ness about her. She knows she commands the room, and it’s gosh-darned hilarious to watch. As she smushed her foot right into the cake, grabbed a chunk of that gorgeous pink ombre deliciousness and playfully tasted some, she did a little wiggle with glee. We laughed and laughed each time she did that wiggle, which I’m pretty sure she kept doing because of the reaction. Smart cookie, miss. I originally met this sweetie pie at Denise and Mark’s wedding – she was… Keep Reading

Getting Creative + Breaking the Rules
Sometimes it’s ok to break the rules – especially when it comes to art. A photo doesn’t necessarily have to be in focus to be lovely and affecting. Here’s a shot of Laura + Zach’s wedding cake showing what I mean. Speaking of which, I love hearing about the different ways people get creative! ** Do any of you have any creative hobbies? Have you ever tried just letting go and seeing what you come up with? ** Think about it. Maybe it’s painting, or pottery, or sewing, knitting, sketching, dancing… there are so many ways to get creative! You don’t have to answer, but think about if you have… Keep Reading
Go find your Joy

Wishing you all well as you embark on a new week, lovelies <3
Neil’s Super Secret Project
I’m sworn to secrecy about Neil’s project, but I am allowed to share the photos! Feel free to have a guess at what this is for… he may enjoy reading the responses. But my lips are sealed! Kudos to Neil for braving the cold in a T-Shirt! What a Canadian.
Winter Island – Is this actually Toronto?
These photos were actually taken in Toronto despite totally looking as though they’re from a Northern territory or the Arctic. The Toronto Island is one of our absolute favourite places to visit. We usually go in the Summertime, when the leaves are lush and the colours are vibrant… it’s an incredibly magical place, giving you a sense of calm and ease that makes you forget you’re in such a busy city. We’d never visited the island in the Winter before, so we thought we’d try it out – something different (yet still of significance to our relationship) for our tenth anniversary. What we saw was nothing short of awe-inspiring. It… Keep Reading
Connie & Mike’s Liberty Grand Wedding
Connie & Mike had a beautiful, opulent wedding in the Fall, and while the photos have been edited for a long while, I’m finally putting some up on the blog! It was a day to remember. Not just because they had super cool acrobatic entertainment at the reception, but most of all because of the gorgeous, love-drunk smiles they had for each other all day long. I’ve never seen a groom tear up so much, and it was so endearing and beautiful to see. And Connie was just so radiant! They held their ceremony at St. Clare Parish Church in Toronto and their reception was at the Liberty Grand. Here… Keep Reading

Live, Laugh, Love. And worry less.
“I’m feeling too fat to be photographed…” … Unfortunately, many of us say or think this all too often. I came across this moving read this morning (link below). ‘I nearly left this earth with no physical evidence of the goofy, wide open and loud love I have for my life, my husband, my family and friends.’ – A sobering reminder that we need to be easier on ourselves and allow ourselves to enjoy this life that we’re so fortunate to have (without worrying so much about how we look while doing it – indeed, you look beautiful to others!). As a photographer I aim to get the most ‘flattering’… Keep Reading
