Gabby is an old friend from my undergrad days, and this was the first time I got to see her in action. She wanted to get performer portraits taken for her website and I have to say, I was *so* excited to witness the incredible moves I’d seen in her Facebook updates! It was super impressive to see her flow in and out of poses with such ease – I don’t think I can bend my back even a tenth of how far she can! But I know it takes tonnes of work to do the cool things she does – she says she stretches and practices every day. If… Keep Reading
The Giacca Kids – Family Session
Monika approached me with a really sweet idea: she and her brothers wanted to get some portraits taken as a special gift to their parents for Christmas. They decided they would print one of the photos super large and frame it, and put the rest into a special album. (Can you guess which one they wanted to frame?) What a beautifully sentimental gift, and wonderful way to celebrate sibling love. I’m sure their parents will be so touched. It was a pleasure, guys!
Twisted Sistah!
Just booked a session with the super talented contortionist, Gabriella DeBartolo! (Get the title reference? har har.) She’s performed on the runway for Canada’s Next Top Model, as well as at other high-profile events like a fundraising gala for CAMH and Friday Night Live at the ROM. (Yes, that’s her in the featured photo.) She’s available to entertain at weddings and other events – check out the unbelievable things she can do at http://www.torontocontortionist.com/ Looking forward to seeing and photographing her in action! I’ll be sure to share some ‘twisted’ photos from our shoot!
So long, 8 inches!
Happy almost Friday, everyone! As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I am photographing a hair & fundraising event held by The Daily Bride/Ashley Blanche Events in September and I’m also participating by donating 8″ of my hair for the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign! I grew my hair long for my wedding, and while it was nice to have the length, it’ll grow back and I’m happy to share it with someone else who could use it. My hair was layered so unfortunately only the back section was long enough to be donated, but something’s better than nothing, right? Here’s me holding my freshly chopped hair at the salon… Keep Reading
Before things got messy.
Before things got messy. This was hilarious – Mason just sat there for a while, arm up on the balloon as if it was an armrest on a recliner – looking at the cake, just chillin’. Finally, after some prompting from his mum, he dug in. And BOY did he dig in! More photos from Mason’s 1st birthday cake smash to come!
