Kew Beach Engagement Photos: Melanie & Andrew Aaah, such love. Melanie and Andrew wanted to do their engagement photos at a place that meant something to them: Kew Beach. Andrew grew up in the Toronto Beach area, and also taught Summer camp there. Now, these two are revisiting this location since it is where they hope to one day create their life together. The sunset on this Summer evening was absolutely gorgeous. What a romantic setting – I can see why they love it so much! Here’s their love story, from Melanie & Andrew themselves! — Melanie‘s favourite holiday is Christmas. From the food and decorations to the cheer and holiday… Keep Reading
Downtown Toronto Engagement – Alissa and Jason
Good food (thank you Caffino Ristorante!), a cutie pie puppy named Dharma, and a BEAUTIFUL Summer’s eve – Alissa & Jason’s downtown Toronto engagement session at Liberty Village was just all kinds of lovely. Here are some of my favourite images from our awesome evening together (thanks again for the delish dinner, you two!), and check out their love story at the bottom of the post as well! And here’s their love story!! Jason and I met in the Spring of 2013 and we immediately had a strong connection. The first time we met was a memorable one, we were at a City and Colour concert and after ordering a… Keep Reading
Toronto Proposal Photographer | U of T Proposal
I always get excited when someone reaches out about photographing a proposal. Proposal photography is somethin’ else. It’s getting to snap a moment in a couple’s relationship that is just so full of magic. The romance, anticipation, excitement – it’s all enough to make your heart skip a beat. Jeremy got in touch with a really sweet proposal idea — He and Samantha met years ago while studying at U of T, and even though they have since graduated he wanted to take her back to the place where it all began. Here are some highlights from their U of T proposal, which you can read more about at the… Keep Reading
Niagara-on-the-Lake Engagement | Christina & Johnny
Here’s this sweet couple’s love story, from the couple themselves! Johnny and I met in September of 2011 at Sheridan College. We started as strangers, we soon became friends and after spending more and more time together throughout the school year we officially started dating on the last day, April 20th, 2012. We quickly became inseparable doing all the things couples do. Whether it was weekend trips to Niagara on the Lake, concerts, eating out, cooking or traveling, we filled our time outside of work with each other. Our travels have taken us to Washington DC, Las Vegas, Montreal, Quebec City, Nashville, New York City, Michigan, Saratoga Springs, New Brunswick,… Keep Reading
Toronto Family Photographer | Ali, Marijan, Oskar & Luka
Ali, Marijan, Oskar and Luka are the sweetest family. This session was a family and engagement session rolled into one – I love that they wanted to include the boys in their engagement photos since they are such a big part of their lives. We went to Toronto’s High Park during the heigh of fall, as the leaves were changing to brilliant hues of yellow and orange. The leaves had started falling off the trees, coating the ground in colour. It was a perfect day for a fall family session! Of course the inner child in me HAD to suggest playing with the leaves. And of COURSE the boys were… Keep Reading
Courtney & Dan’s Ward’s Island Engagement
She moved from Nevada to be with him in Toronto. Her smile is like sunshine and her eyes are possibly the brightest most happy eyes I’ve ever seen to be gazing at her mister. Courtney and Dan are so sweet together. Here’s a peek at their engagement session – and don’t miss their love story, written by the couple themselves, at the bottom of the post <3 Their wedding will be at Steam Whistle Brewery, so they thought they’d bring some bottles to the session – a fun nod to their nuptuals 🙂 – THEIR LOVE STORY – From Daniel: One day five years ago, I was walking into a… Keep Reading
Relaxed Toronto Engagement Photos – Carolyn & Nick
My evening with Carolyn & Nick left me feeling so zen and heart-full. This session was so relaxed, free-flowing and easy-going. We explored their neighbourhood (King West) and snapped some shots when the light and locations felt right. I had such a great time hanging out with these two and documenting this time in their lives. Can’t wait for their George restaurant wedding next May <3 — & Here’s their fantastic engagement story! “The Proposal I surprised Nick with a trip to Cape Breton for his 30th birthday. We had planned to drive the Cabot Trail and hike around the provincial park. I had read online how beautiful the Skyline Trail Hike… Keep Reading
Scarborough Bluffs Engagement – Caitlin & Jesse
For Caitlin & Jesse’s engagement session we totally incorporated so many things that were very ‘them’, which is always super nice! When we started out, Jesse said he’d like to take some shots of them playing road hockey together since he’s SUCH a hockey buff (more about this in their love story below). So we had some fun getting *slightly* competitive on the street. We then strolled through some of Caitlin’s childhood neighbourhood – her parents live legitimately right around the corner from that incredible lookout point. Can you believe that is in Toronto? (Safety Note: Anyone who visits here, *please* be careful as the bluffs are known to spontaneously… Keep Reading
Hamilton Waterfall Engagement – Queenie & Jason
Queenie and Jason love to hike, and they chose to have a Hamilton waterfall engagement session – What a gorgeous backdrop for photos that reflect them as a couple. Now, when I say they like to hike, I don’t just mean an after brunch stroll… No sir-ee — Check out their totally hardcore (yet totally adorable) hiking outfits! (Later on in the post.) They also brought a balloon that was on-theme with their wedding colours and a change of clothes for a different look. We had tonnes of fun exploring together! I won’t say too much about these two since they have put together an INCREDIBLE narrative about their love… Keep Reading
Toronto Ice Cream Engagement – Bridget & Nick
Bridget and I first connected after she tagged Nick on one of my Instagram posts that said I was almost completely booked up for 2016. She wrote to him: “ALERT, ALERT… another potential 2016 wedding issue. We NEED @OlivePhotoTO” I loved her sense of humour! I was honoured, and couldn’t wait to meet these two! This was before her and Nick were engaged, mind you. A while back, I had photographed her friend’s wedding, and the next year I shot another friend’s wedding — when she learned it was me who shot them both it had sealed the deal in her mind and we got to talking about photographing their (soon-to-be officially… Keep Reading
