Leslieville Fall Engagement Session They wanted a Fall engagement session, and while Mother Nature had other plans for the leaves, she was sure shining some warm Fall light! Giulia and John’s engagement session involved a casual stroll through their neck of the woods – the city’s East End. We started chasing light in Leslieville, stopping to marvel at a mural in a garden centre (we even got within inches of a butterfly!), and checking out the new Broadview Hotel. We then went to nearby Rooster Coffee, which is so dang cute. We loved that they have a crossword out for people waiting for their coffee to attempt! Then across the… Keep Reading
Downtown Toronto Engagement | Ginny & Brian
Downtown Toronto Engagement | Ginny & Brian When Ginny and Brian said they live close to Rogers Centre they weren’t kidding! You could basically extend your arm out their window and touch it. Talk about location! That being said, these two really enjoy going to Blue Jays games together so they brought their jerseys to immortalize that part of their lives in their engagement photos. We also stopped at Sud Forno for their scrumptious donut hole bites. Dang, they looked good. Sud Forno is also just such a unique and cool restaurant – if you haven’t been, you should check it out! They also have a bakery downstairs (restaurant is… Keep Reading
CNE Engagement Photos | Rebekah & Karl
CNE Engagement Session What’s a quintessential Toronto Summer past time? Going to the CNE of course! Rebekah and Karl go multiple times each Summer (they’re going again on Saturday for the cat show!), so I loved their idea of photographing them on a date night at the Ex! We tried some of the crazy (and totally awesome) food choices, played some games, rode the sky Ride and had such a fun time. Here are some shots from their Exhibition engagement session! (And be sure to read their super sweet love story at the bottom of the post.) And here is their love story! I met Karl in high school when… Keep Reading
Home Engagement Session | Megan & Aaron
I really adore the idea of taking engagement photos in your first home together. It’s part of this whirlwind time of exciting firsts, and I think photos at that location will be something you reallly cherish when you are older & looking through these photos. Engagement photos aren’t just a way to get comfortable in front of the camera – While it’s true that they do help with that, it also freezes you at this point in time. That’s why I always encourage couples to think of a location or activity that is reflective of them as a couple for their photos. It’s a way to celebrate where you are… Keep Reading
Leslieville Engagement Session | Julie & Gary
Julie and Gary decided to have a Leslieville engagement session because Julie used to work in the area and the two of them enjoy going there often. We stopped by two of their favourite local spots, including Te Aro and Ed’s Real Scoop. Mmm, so much goodness! They were originally nervous about getting their photo taken but they quickly opened up and had a really sweet date day that I got to capture. Here are some of my faves from our evening, and you can also read their love story at the bottom of the post! And here’s their story, from Julie & Gary themselves! I met Gary in the… Keep Reading
Harbourfront Engagement Photos | Neha & Jeff
Harbourfront Engagement Photos Neha and Jeff originally got in touch when Neha was in Berkeley California for school, and we had our consult from three different places in the world – I thought that was pretty cool. With the weather threatening rain on the first two dates we scheduled (/pretty much all Summer), we decided to chance doing their engagement photos on this evening, despite the rain drops that sporadically fell. If you’ve read my thoughts on cloudy/rainy days before you know that they are just wonderful for even lighting! (Nature’s softbox.) We strolled along Toronto’s Harbourfront for their engagement photos, basically just hanging out and taking some photos wherever… Keep Reading
Toronto Ravine Engagement | Kaliroy & Jimmy
Toronto Ravine Engagement: Kaliroy & Jimmy Kaliroy and I went to school together and I’m so honoured to photograph this happy time for her and her beau of 10 years, Jimmy. They wanted to start their engagement session where it all started for them: Robina Ave. They actually grew up on the same street – how convenient would that be for getting together when dating! We then kept it simple and went to a nearby Toronto ravine, which is actually one of my favourites: Cedarvale Ravine. (I actually grew up in the area as well and have spent a lot of time there over the years.) Bonus: We saw a… Keep Reading
Cottage Engagement Session | Marshall & Irini
When Toronto summer hits, you hear lots about people going up to the cottage, and as someone who doesn’t currently have one, the prospect of going to the cottage for an engagement session sounded too nice to pass up. And may I say, Marshall & Irini’s cottage is FREAKING AMAZING. It has anything you could ever want in a cottage. *sigh* Just thinking about it is making me want to go back. We also spent some time in the surrounding area and made a day of it. We started in town grabbing a shake at a super charming soda & ice cream shop, then we went to admire the nearby scenic… Keep Reading
Carpet Factory Engagement Photos | Tiina & Greg
I’d actually emailed with Tiina a few times before she was even engaged – She manages the photo permits at the Carpet Factory in Liberty Village, one of my favourite places to shoot! When she and Greg booked with me for their wedding and engagement photos, we of course *had* to use the Carpet Factory premises somehow. Lucky us, she gets access to some top secret amaaaaaazing spots. I absolutely loved exploring all the secret nooks of the area. Their engagement photos have a relaxed, intimate and candid feel to them that I absolutely adore. Thanks so much for letting loose in front of my lens and for such a… Keep Reading
Rattlesnake Point Engagement | Morgan & Nicolas
Morgan is my childhood elementary school friend, and Nicolas is her fiance who also happens to be an Olympian. (Seriously! He was in Rio last Summer on the Canadian rowing team!) Nicolas wasn’t originally sold on the idea of an engagement session – He joked earlier that week with a co-worker, ‘my fiance tells me I’m excited about these photos’ – Well, Morgan informed me the next day that he was the first one to bring up seeing a sneak peek! We decided to take their Fall engagement photos at Rattlesnake point, a scenic location that Morgan used to visit with her family as a child. The weather was uncharacteristically warm… Keep Reading
